Projectline’s September Consultant of the Month: Cathy Mabee

Each month one of our incredible consultants is “chosen to” receive recognition because they truly embody our core values—Accountability, Partnership, Drive, Curiosity, and Transparency—with their clients and our consultant community. I get the honor of asking them a few fun questions beyond their daily work deliverables! Meet Cathy Mabee, our September consultant of the month

Q: What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?
A: Bungee jumped off the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas.

Q: What is the strangest place you have ever had dinner?
A: With a hill tribe in Sapa, Vietnam (North of Hanoi and near the Vietnam/China border).

Q: What is your go-to Karaoke song?
A: Bon Jovi, Livin’ on a Prayer.

Q: What is one word that your best friend would use to describe you?
A: Funny (at least I think so).

Q: What’s your primary assignment all about?
A: I’m currently managing two primary assignments with my client. One of them I have worked on for four years, the other is new to me.

Q: What do you love about working with your clients?
A: During my time spent with my long term assignment, I’ve developed a strong partnership with the team and gained personal friends. We work well together, and they make me feel like I’m part of the team. My other assignment is a new role for me and I’m still getting to know the group. I’m really enjoying my role for various reasons: One, my client is looking to me to develop new resources for their team and she’s very open to my feedback and guidance. Two, I’ve been asked to lead the vendor team, something that is completely new to me.

Q: What is the # 1 thing that you like about Projectline?  Why Projectline and not another firm?
A: I’ve worked at several staffing agencies and decided to switch companies a year ago. I did some extensive research and learned about Projectline. I liked their approach, from employee engagement/benefits, to their business strategy. The number one thing that I like about Projectline though is the support I receive from Lauren Bell. I’ve always brought contracts to my agencies and never wanted the support. Since I started working at Projectline my attitude has changed . It’s been refreshing working with Lauren and I appreciate her guidance and support.

Q: Where do you like to volunteer your time or donate your extra cash? What organizations do you support?
A: The Ballard Senior Center, Ben’s Fund, and other local non-profits that do not receive funding from the United Way.

Q: From what location do you work?
A: It really depends on the timing. When my projects are in execution mode I’m onsite every day. During the slow days, you can find me working from home in Ballard.

Q: What is your #1 expertise if people want to reach out to you for advice? (work or non-work)
A: I’m a connector. I have a great network of people and enjoy connecting or mentoring people.

Q: What do you do for fun?
A: Currently, it’s Fantasy Football, and Husky or Seahawks games with friends.

Q: In honor of your being Consultant of the Month, we would like to donate $250 in your name to the organization of your choice! Which organization would you like us to donate to?
A: Ballard Senior Center
