Each month one of our incredible consultants is “chosen to” receive recognition because they truly embody our core values—Accountability, Partnership, Drive, Curiosity, and Transparency—with their clients and our consultant community. I get the honor of asking them a few fun questions beyond their daily work deliverables! Meet Kate Sojda, our June consultant of the month!
Q: What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?
A: Skydiving after completing my freshman year in college.
Q: What is the strangest place you have ever had dinner?
A: I am a big foodie and love trying new things! The most exotic place would probably be sampling street food in Mumbai, India for dinner one evening. I also really want to try one of those sensory deprivation restaurants. Any good recommendations?
Q: What is your go-to Karaoke song?
A: I don’t like Karaoke.
Q: What is your passion outside of work?
A: I love hiking, camping and being outdoors with my almost nine-year old Goldendoodle. Also, spending time with family and my adorable two-year old nephew as much as possible!
Q: What is one word that your best friend would use to describe you?
Q: What’s your primary assignment all about?
A: I support internal communications for Enterprise Services (ES) at Microsoft. I work on exec comms for our CVP, SharePoint content strategy for our ES portal, ES people manager monthly communications and oversee the design concept called City Lights for DSS (parent of ES).
Q: What do you love about working with your client?
A: There are always new challenges and I am continually learning about new tools and processes daily at Microsoft.
Q: What is the # 1 thing that you like about Projectline? Why Projectline and not another firm?
A: I love the commitment to and passion for helping others through charity work. I have volunteered a few times, appreciate the monetary donations and overall desire for helping others at Projectline.
Q: Where do you like to volunteer your time or donate your extra cash? What organizations do you support?
A: There’s so many! I love volunteering with the food bank, Food Lifeline, Treehouse and Habitat for Humanity. I also just learned about an organization called The Beyond Project in Seattle and have been donating funds to help them support beauty and wellness care for foster children and people coming out of homelessness, domestic abuse and sex trafficking.
Q: From what location do you work (Mostly home? Mostly client site? Blend?)
A: I work in the RedWest Microsoft office in Redmond one to two days a week and work from home the other days.
Q: What is your #1 expertise if people want to reach out to you for advice? (work or non-work)
A: Project management. I project manage everything I do, even home remodels or travel planning.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: I love traveling, spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.
Q: In honor of your being Consultant of the Month, we would like to donate $250 in your name to the organization of your choice! Which organization would you like us to donate to?
A: The Beyond Project – http://www.thebeyondproject.org/
I’m personally impressed with the dedication our consultants have to their work, but also to the wider world. If you know someone like this, please tell them about Projectline Services and point them to our career page. We are always hiring!
